On behalf of all staff, it is my honour to welcome you to the Veritas School community. I am proud to be a member of an extremely dedicated staff as we work together and with parents to ensure our students develop and grow to be successful Christian members of the global community.
Veritas School is committed to fostering the growth of the next generation of leaders who have Christian values and characteristics. Veritas’ growth and reputation over the past 60 years of existence has allowed Veritas to be a leader in the field of education in the north-west of British Columbia.

ABOUT US
“Catholic education aims not only to communicate facts but also to transmit a coherent, comprehensive vision of life,
in the conviction that the truths contained in that vision liberate students in the most profound meaning of human freedom.”
~ Pope John Paul II
Veritas School is steeped in history within both Terrace and the Prince George Diocese as we prepare for our 60th Anniversary in 2019. Veritas opened in 1959 on Lakelse Avenue at the site of what is now Skeena Mall. The eight classrooms were moved to the present site in 1973 and attached to the newly built Administration Wing, Library and Gymnasium. A new Kindergarten Room and Staff Room were built in 1981. A new wing was added in 1997 containing a new Library, Computer Lab and Resource Room. The former Library became a new Music and Band Room, and then became the Kindergarten Room. In 2014, a portable was added to house the trades class with the addition of Grade 8 and 9.
The school was staffed for many years by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto and by Frontier Apostles, some of whom are still a part of our the parish community. The school presently relies on lay teachers, all of whom are certified by the British Columbia College of Teachers, and offers complete academic program following the British Columbia Curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade Nine.
